Clinton is a former Rhodes Scholar and Yale-educated lawyer. He was elected governor of Arkansas at 32 years old. By the time he ran for president in 1992, he was the longest-serving governor in the United States. The new first lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton, is also a Yale-educated lawyer. Once the Clintons arrived in the White House, she assumed a policymaking role.
